Writer and cook by day, knitter by night, Christina Stork taught friends to knit on weekends. A few years ago she shifted things around and cooking became the hobby when she opened Article Pract, a yarn shop for the modern knitter located in Oakland, CA. Featured in several magazines, radio pieces, and newspapers, Article Pract now flaunts the title "Best of the East Bay" according to the local paper and many loyal customers. Christina has perfect tension, but is a slow knitter.
A knitter
from age eight, Leslie Barbazette worked in design and publishing in London
for several years after college, but now knits and lives in California's Bay
Area. In addition to her day job at a large
apparel company, Leslie runs a handbag and accessory line, Citizen
Bags by Leslie Barbazette. One of her handbag designs is featured in Stitch
'N Bitch Nation (Workman, 2004). Leslie is a fast knitter, but has terrible
tension.
